An Unexpected Nature Walk

Last weekend when we were in Punta Cana for our half marathon, I read that our hotel package included free entry to the Eco Reserve where there were natural, freshwater pools.  Since A isn't really a beach person {he grew up in paradise}, we thought a short walk would be fun.  We had no idea what we were getting in to!  With Punta Cana crammed with all-inclusives, neither of us expected to witness so much..  nature..

 

What we thought would be a 10 minute walk turned into a 1.5 hour hike, and we didn't even hit all of the pools.  The water was icy cold but many people were swimming right alongside the ducks and turtles.  

 

It was such a neat place to discover; my iPhone pics definitely do not do justice to the colors that you find!  Now I'm daydreaming about returning soon to find my own private pool to float around in on a hot day..
