This post is looong overdue, but so much has been going on from my sister-in-law's wedding, to packing, to making the move to Santorini! I've been here for a week already so I guess its time to catch up. But first, a recap of our honeymoon in Punta Cana. (And even though this post will probably sound like a sponsored post, it certainly is not - I wish!)
I had high hopes for our resort yet it still exceeded my expectations! Everything about Paradisus Punta Cana was perfect. From the friendly staff, to the colorful grounds, to the many small details, like bottled waters with their own logo, and chilled, herbal towels to freshen up upon arriving, I left the resort feeling more than impressed.
Speaking of checking in, when I mentioned that it was our honeymoon (and after proving it with our wedding date engraved in our rings) they popped upon a bottle of champagne and upgraded our room to a Royal Service suite! We were even given a free dinner at one of their specialty restaurants, La Palapo, which of course was exquisite.
Usually the food at all-inclusives is far from excellent, but I don't think there was one thing we had that we weren't crazy about. We had juicy cuts of churrasco and so much fresh fish with every meal, like coconut cream sea bass and steamed lobster with passionfruit sauce. It is easy to understand why there is a michelin awarded chef that works in one of their restaurants. And the beverages! The drinks were made to order (no sugary mixes involved) and to die for; it was hard to not down a mudslide every other hour.
To stay active we took a spin class, participated in the cheesy pool aerobics, and climbed a rock wall... Oh wow, was that harder than I had imagined! I just kept looking up and thinking how on earth will I get to that rock?! But with a little rope pulling from the employee I made it to the top! We also attended a magic show where I acted as the magician's assistant, so unlike me!
I was so sad to leave after a few days; we will definitely visit again!
Paradisus was paradise...
